FramingNano

FramingNano is an international mutli-stakeholder dialogue platform to regulate the development of nanosciences and nanotechnologies (NS&T). FramingNano is conducted and funded in the context of the EU's 7th Framework Programme.

The activity of the two years project will be geared around four key actions:

  • Analysis and review of existing-proposed regulatory and governance processes.

  • Collection and analysis of positions and needs of stakeholders, enacted through a two stage Delphi Panel and a dedicated International Workshop.

  • Design of an appropriate proposal of a Governance Plan, through the consultation of experts and a debate among all stakeholders in a dedicated International Conference.

  • Capillary action of communication and dissemination of information on the project.

The FramingNano project will support the development and implementation of a multi-stakeholder dialogue on the regulation and risk governance of nanotechnologies among scientific, regulatory and industrial groups.

The goal is to sustain a European debate between the actors and to elaborate a common basis of knowledge, objectives and action approaches for the definition of a constructive and practicable regulatory solutions. The broad public shall be given the opportunity to voice their agreement or disagreement to the approaches of the different stakeholders.
